Meet Sarah

The One Behind Tagthiya

Smiling person with long dark hair, wearing a floral necklace and a patterned top, sitting in front of a window.

Hi! Sarah Zahr, the creator of Tagthiya, is a public health nutritionist by training and a storyteller at heart. By day, she works in the world of global health and nutrition policy; by night, she’s here turning those policies and research papers into engaging stories for you.

  • Tagthiya is where that mission takes a different form. It’s where Sarah combines what she knows (nutrition systems, policy, advocacy) with how she likes to explain things (through simple visual narratives).

  • Over the past several years, Sarah has worked across the Middle East and globally, leading policy analysis, developing knowledge tools, and supporting strategy design on child nutrition, food systems, and social protection.

Her experience includes consultancies with UNICEF, Nutritional International, International Orthodox Christian Charities, Global Health Strategies, and national governments. And has co-authored global guidance, led multi-country reports, organized high-level meetings, and built communities of practice to make knowledge exchange more practical.

  • Holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master’s in Public Health Nutrition from the American University of Beirut (AUB).

In 2022, she began a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree at Johns Hopkins University, a step that deepened her focus on the connection between research, policy, and public understanding.

When did Tagthiya start.

Tagthiya started in 2017 to bridge the gap between research and everyday understanding.

It was Sarah’s response to misinformation. To overly complicated reports. To the lack of a space where science could meet everyday understanding.

Evidence-Backed. Lightly Told.

Sarah’s voice on Tagthiya is informal but informed. She’ll joke about genies and wolves, but you can trust that behind the humor is solid research and professional insight.
